Check it out!!!!!!!!

Guess what I got???????? Let me just say that I absolutely love my Rebel...but bless its heart...I think I have worn it out!!!! I would not even imagine how many pictures I have taken with that camera. I am still going to use it as a back up (one can never be without a back up) I also am going to let my daughter use it to begin her journey into dSLR cameras.

Ok on to my new baby!!!! I love it..I love how it responds to me an the clarity is astounding!!!! I have not really had a good chance to take it outside and play with it (Ohio weather). It is supposed to be half way decent this weekend so I think my daughter and I are going to take a trip and play with our cameras. I can't wait!!! BTW she is so much fun to hang out with!!!!

I also purchased the battery grip and let me say that this baby is never coming off my camera. I shoot a lot of vertical shots and this does not cause my wrist to wear out. It definitely takes a little to get used to but I love it all the same!!!!

Ok enough for now...I am patiently waiting for my UPS driver to bring me a new lens, book and filter!!!!

Until next time ♥

My weekends...

are consumed with this...my friends meet the youth wrestling program at our school!!!! It consumes every Sunday for hours...usually from 7:30-5:00 and we travel all over.

You would be correct to know that we do not have any child who wrestles mind you...we do this from our own free will. You can all call us crazy but we ♥ it. My husband coaches and I work what is called the head table.

I take care of filling out all the bout sheets for my mat and keep track of all the stats and ribbons for my mat.
At every meet there are 12 mats...which that evens out to be about 300+ kid...ages 4-13...in one place for that time period. Now grant it there are days that the noise gets to me but most days it pretty much rocks.

Wrestling is an awesome sport. There is not team just one player. I enjoy watching the little ones grasp the idea of what a take down, reversal, shoot and pin are and when they win their match, there is nothing but smiles!!

When Thursday nights roll around...the kids get their ribbons and if they pin their opponent they get a pin pin. It is amazing that this little pin can make a child work so hard on Sunday.

This doesn't even cover Saturday's which is consumed with Jr. High and High School wrestling. I go so I can work on my picture taking. Our daughter is the Jr. High stat girl so we go anyway so we can take her home. The kids are so sweet and such hard workers.

If you ever get a chance...go to your local high school wrestling meet and just see what it is all about...

Until we meet again ♥

Sleep deprivation...

brought to you by the 2010 Winter Olympics!!!! I love the winter olympics...actually come to think of it I love the summer ones also. It is so much fun to watch these young athletes compete and you see awesome sportsmanship.

I have to confess I was never a sports nut until over the past years. My husband and daughter are very sports oriented so I won't say I was forced but giving in and actually realizing that I enjoy watching was way easier!!

For the most part I enjoy watching sports-there are a few that I could do without-I enjoy college the most because for the most part they are playing with all their heart and not for the $$$. The olympics rock because every athlete is loyal to their country and they fight hard to win those medals.

Good luck to all the athletes in the 2010 Winter Olympics...my mornings now will be quieter and more sleepy!!!!

Until we meet again ♥

All things girly....

I saw this little grouping in our bathroom and just had to take a picture of it. My daughter who is 13 loves her make up. I seriously think she has enough to open a small boutique!!!

We are constantly looking in the make up aisle for new and great things. We constantly are looking through teen magazines for new ideas for applying the said make up and new hair styles.

Now I know I am a mom and I should probably be pretty good at the whole make up and hair thing; but truth be told I pretty much suck at it all!!! I cannot do hair...my lives in a pony tail 24/7...and I am supposed to know about straighteners and curling irons--hahaha.

Then we move on to the make up issue, now I am a pretty minimal make up type girl. Your basic powder, blush, eye shadow, mascara and occasionally eye liner and that is it. My daughter on the other hand loves all the cool looks. We tried to do the smoky eye look~~~yeah it didn't turn out so well~~~we had black eye shadow every where!!! It was pretty funny now that I look back on it.

So as you can see all things girly is a HUGE part of our daily routine, but I can tell you that even though she loves being girly; she can also hang with the boys and is a darn good fastpitch player~~~those pictures will come later in the year.

So to all the new moms out there or the moms that have younger girls...embrace what you daughter chooses and enjoy them to the fullest...they are the best times of your lives!!!!

Until we meet again ♥

Etsy Heaven!!!!

Ok so I have always wanted to be one of those cool people who bought cute little quirky handmade items from Etsy but I have really never gotten around to it...until tonight...all I can say is Etsy is pure heaven. I have never seen such beautiful items in my life. I applaud all those people who put items on there...they are very crafty and quirky.

So as you know I am on this weight loss think~~~aka healthy lifestyle~~~I will not say the D word that makes me shudder every time I say it. I have recently founded my love for yoga. Wow do I love doing this stuff. It makes me feel wonderful, relaxed and I have noticed that I even walk a little taller and have more confidence (which is a HUGE step for me)

Ok back to Etsy...I will save yoga for another post...promise. So here are the two items that I am treating myself to for Valentine's day. It is not a holiday that is celebrated by my hubby and I (too many bad flashbacks haahaa)
This little cutie comes from creationsbymichele and I totally fell in love with it. The only think I changed was instead of Megan (not my name) I asked to have the word Breathe put on it. I have to remind myself to step back and take a breath every now and then. More often than not these days. Another blog post!!!!
And this cutie is by A Charmed Obsession shop and I totally fell in love with this one too. I love the colors and it is just absolutely breathtaking. I cannot wait to get these in my little hands. I will post the actual pictures when they arrive.

Good night to all my bloggers in blog land...sweet dreams!!!!

Giving it another go...

Hello fellow bloggers...I am officially giving it another go in blog land...I am not going to make any promises this time around. I just need someplace that I come and record my feelings, ideas, photos and frustrations as I take this journey called life. I am in the middle of a HUGE weight loss battle, a mid life career change and trying to begin a photography business.

Come back often and see what you will find. You never know and as always feel free to leave comments. See you all in a bit. First I am going to leave you will a couple of pictures. My daughter and some snow that has fallen in our part of the world.

Stay safe, warm and be careful out there!!!
